Delhi Division is located in National Capital of the country. It connects Southern, Central, Eastern and Western part of the country with Northern Region. The Division serves a number of historical places like Delhi, Panipat, Kurukshetra, Meerut, Palwal, Faridabad, Ballabhgarh, Palwal, Delhi Cantt, Gurgaon etc. Meerut cantt& Delhi cantt are important Military bases of Indian Army. This Division runs daily 961 Mail/Exp. & Passenger trains, which includes Premium trains Gatiman, Rajdhani, Duranto, Shatabdi, Yuva, Jan Shatabdi, Sampark Kranti, Garib Rath which connects all the states of the country with the National Capital. Most of the passenger traffic is handled by five coaching terminals in Delhi Area viz Delhi, New Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Delhi Sarai Rohilla & Anand Vihar. On an average approx. 11 Lakh passengers are handled daily at these terminals. Tuglakabad, Ghaziabad & Shakurbasti are 03 important freight marshalling yards of the divisions. On an average 222 freight trains are dealt with daily. Major inward commodity are Coal, Pol, Iron, Steel, Containers, Cement & Fertilizers rakes are received from Eastern, South Eastern and Western, North Western Region for consumption in National Capital region as well as supply to Thermal Power Station at Sadda Singh Wala (MTSS), Panipat(PTPS), Ropar, Bhatinda, Suratgarh & Lehra Mohabbat. Sponsored and Public food grains, POL rakes, Containers, Fertilizer, Automobile & sugar rakes are loaded on this division for transportation to Eastern, Central, Western & Southern part of the Country Read More
